Attendance Incentives
Implementing Attendance Incentives can help to reduce absenteeism and improve overall academic performance. They can be a great way to encourage students to attend classes regularly and create a more and enriched learning environment. By offering rewards such as prizes and recognition, students are more likely to attend classes and engage in the learning process.
Community Food Drives
No family should have to worry about where their next meal will come from. We’re committed to supporting local San Diego families facing food insecurity by providing nonperishable food items and grocery gift cards year-round.
As rising costs and reductions in assistance programs continue to impact our neighbors, your support ensures that families can put nourishing food on the table and focus on what truly matters — caring for one another.
Winter Wish Program
The Winter Wish program is a wonderful initiative that brings together members of our community to help families in need during the holidays.
By providing fully wrapped gifts of clothing, shoes, toys, food, and other essential items, we can bring moments of joy and stability to children who need it most. Join us in spreading holiday cheer and making a difference in the lives of those around us
After School Activities
We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and enrichment. That's why we're committed to funding After School Activities that offer a range of activities, from science and art to athletics and reading.

6th Grade Camp
Welcome to our fundraising campaign to send our 6th graders to Cuyamaca Outdoor School. Our goal is to provide our students with an unforgettable experience that aligns with California's Next Generation Science Standards, Environmental Principles and Concepts, STEM, and Common Core State Standards. During their time at the school students will participate in Citizen projects and collect scientific data to share with scientists across the country. Each student will also receive a beautiful field journal to take home as a keepsake. Help us make this trip a reality for our students!
Summer Activities
Our goal is to seek out Summer Activities including camps and local programs that we can assist our students to enroll in.
These programs provide enrichment activities, learning opportunities, and a lot of fun for children during their extended summer break. Our hope is that students will be engaged and have the chance to learn new skills and make new friends. ​​

I am very grateful for this organization. My son and I were living in a very dangerous situation. I had to move out and giveaway or sell most of our bigger items and put everything else in storage. We then where forced to not be in the best living situation.​
As a solo parent, it gets hard to make so many challenging decisions with a little one to think of. So much doubt and hesitation was upon me. Thankfully once It Takes A Village found out about our situation they motivated and gave me the help and support I needed to start aggressively looking for a home.
Once I found an apartment to call home, I was left with the dilemma of replacing our belongings. It Takes a Village fundraised for us to get new beds and other necessities we so desperately needed to call our new place a home!
I have no words that can describe the feeling of appreciation I feel. I thank them for all that they did for me and still continue doing for my tiny little family.”

We seek to support and empower the homeless families of San Diego. Sometimes, a little help with groceries, back to school clothes, or a birthday gift for their child can go a very long way towards boosting morale and providing hope for tomorrow.
